In the second part of our series on calling cards, we are going to concentrate on the subject of extra charges which includes things like connection charges, disconnection charges, monthly or weekly service fees, and really any other charge that is imposed on you apart from the per minute rate to call.
Of course, it goes without saying that your ideal type of international calling card is one that does not have any form of extra charge. You want to try and find a card that is as “clean” as possible - meaning no hidden charges of any type. For example, our own international calling card for the USA, iCallAbroad USA, provides users with a totally clean calling solution - there are no hidden charges of any kind.
However, there can be some instances where a calling solution that has extra charges might be the best option for you. For example, if you are a heavy calling card user and will be using it a lot, the best option might be a calling card that has a weekly fee as they will offer a lower per minute rate.
At the end of the day it makes sense to try and get a calling card that has no hidden charges, but you also have to work out what is the best for your situation!
